DICE Network+ Capacity Building Workshop

At the start of November, the DICE Network+ team hosted an engaging and interactive workshop led by Dr Silvia Tedesco and Dr Oliver Fisher, focused on building capacity and strengthening collaboration across our research community.
The session brought together researchers from diverse disciplines to explore strategies for enhancing success in funding applications, with a particular emphasis on innovation, impact, and embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
Highlights of the workshop included reflective activities on past and future funding applications, a hands-on session using EDI cards developed by Dr Oliver Fisher and colleagues, and lively discussions that sparked new ideas and peer learning. These activities encouraged participants to think critically about how to integrate EDI principles and innovation into their proposals while fostering collaboration across sectors.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many noting the value of practical tools and shared insights. The workshop not only provided guidance on improving funding applications but also strengthened connections within the research community—laying the groundwork for future collaborations and impactful projects.
