Digital Traceability Working Group: Insights from Awais Munawar - Remake Value Retention Centre (RVRC)

Most Digital Product Passport conversations start and stop with compliance: get ready for ESPR, tick the box, and move on. However, that framing misses the primary opportunity. A DPP is core data infrastructure; for value-retention operations (remanufacturing, MRO), the capacity to access, trust, and verify product data is often the difference between a component being reused or scrapped. This session explores the ReMake DPP and RVRC Hub initiatives through this lens, featuring case studies across electronics, textiles, and aerospace components.

DICE Network+ is very pleased to welcome Awais Munawar to share his insights with us. Awais is Head of Digital at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), where he leads three specialist teams spanning virtual manufacturing, manufacturing intelligence, and digital infrastructure. He has a track record of delivering major industry programmes for aerospace OEMs, and a strong network across manufacturing, circular economy, and standards bodies. He also leads the ReMake DPP and RVRC Hub initiatives at NMIS.
