CIWM's Presidential Inauguration 2025

On 19 June, Prof Fiona Charnley attended one of our Advisory Group members, Dr David Greenfield‘s, inauguration as the 2025 President of Chartered Institute of Waste Management.
During the event the CIWM Presidential Report, “Lost Opportunities? Winning Back Materials to Drive the UK’s Circular Economy” was launched. With contributions from Prof Fiona Charnley, the report highlights the urgent need and opportunity for the UK to lead in the transition towards a circular, inclusive and resource-efficient economy. Specifically, the report dives into six critical material flows, three of which are fundamental for digital technologies.
