Transformation Pathways Event Showcases DICE N+ Leadership

On 1 July 2026, more than 75 representatives from industry, government, academia and the third sector came together at London’s Science Museum for the recent DICE Network+ Transformation Pathways event, highlighting the growing momentum behind digitally enabled circular economy solutions. The event marked the midpoint of the three-year DICE Network+ programme and provided a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration and discussion on the future of sustainable digital innovation.
Attendees heard from leading organisations including Google, Meta, Defra, BT and the Critical Minerals Challenge Centre, with discussions focusing on how digital technologies can both support and benefit from circular economy principles. Key themes included extending the lifespan of digital infrastructure, developing robust secondary markets for technology, recovering critical materials, and using artificial intelligence to accelerate sustainability outcomes.
The event demonstrated the strength of the DICE N+ community and its growing role in connecting researchers, businesses, policymakers and innovators who are working together to tackle some of the most pressing sustainability challenges facing the digital economy. As DICE Network+ Lead Professor Fiona Charnley reflected, many of the technological solutions already exist, and the focus now must be on building the partnerships, trust and standards needed to accelerate adoption and create real-world impact.
